Privacy Policy

This policy describes information collected during a visit, the reasons it is used, and the limited circumstances in which service providers or authorities may receive it. By continuing to use the website, you accept these privacy practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or place entered in a search tool is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not retain those search terms in our own records.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email may be retained as long as needed to respond and maintain the related correspondence. It is not disclosed outside our organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Data We Gather Automatically

When a page loads, servers and analytics tools can record standard technical details about the visit:

  • The IP address assigned to your device
  • Which browser you are using and its version
  • Your device type and operating system
  • The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
  • The site that sent you here, if any
  • Timestamps for each page view

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files placed on a device. They help measure traffic, popular pages, and broad patterns in how visitors move through the website. Analytics providers may combine those measures into reports. Browser controls can block cookies, though doing so may change how some functions behave.

What We Do With This Data

  • Maintaining reliable site operation and page performance
  • Routing a search request to the selected outside service
  • Measuring which resources receive useful traffic
  • Diagnosing errors, abuse, and security issues
  • Supporting advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

Coconino County Criminal History does not keep, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes directions to courts, police records units, the Arizona Department of Public Safety, and the Arizona DPS OffenderWatch registry. Visitor information is not turned into a third-party criminal-history file or a consumer report. This website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy terms govern information submitted through those tools, including their retention and disclosure choices. Review a provider's policy before sending a query because we do not control its practices.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to courts, law-enforcement agencies, state offices, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows a link away, the destination's privacy policy applies. Check it before providing personal details.

Advertising providers may use their own technology to measure activity across websites and select ads. That processing occurs under their systems and policies.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal information. Data may be disclosed to:

  • Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
  • Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
  • Ad networks that place ads on our pages
  • Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable technical and administrative safeguards protect collected data. No online system can be guaranteed secure, however, so we cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.

Users Under 18

The website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. A verified report of a minor's information will be reviewed for deletion.

Your Data Rights

Rights can vary by residence and applicable law. Arizona's Consumer Fraud Act, A.R.S. § 44-1522, prohibits deceptive or unfair practices in connection with the sale or advertisement of merchandise. Subject to the law that applies, a visitor may:

  • Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
  • Have us fix information that is wrong
  • Request that we erase your data
  • Opt out of certain kinds of data processing

Updates to This Policy

Revisions take effect when an updated policy and effective date appear here. Visitors should review the current version when they want to understand present practices.
